2 Y
O’s In Training For Sale
Looking for a 2 YO in training that is ready for the racetrack
rather than ready to be turned out? We believe very few two year
olds can physically and mentally handle the rigors of preparing
for a two year old sale then move on to the racetrack to start
their racing careers. In our opinion, most horses graduating from
these sales are ready to be turned out for physical and mental
rest which in our minds defeats the purpose of purchasing a horse
in training.
We develop
our home-breds with the ultimate goal of getting them to the racetrack
for long term success racing rather than a series of short, fast
works that might compromise their future careers both physically
and mentally. Not only do our horses receive the proper amount
of time on our world class 5/8 mile dirt track and our ½
mile turf track, they are “Trail Ridden” in groups
throughout our spacious farm several times a week right after
their racetrack time. We believe the balance of track and trail
time teaches them patience; and by exposing them to the hustle
and bustle of a working breeding farm operation, helps diminish
their fears of new stimuli when they move onto America’s
racetracks. We believe mental preparation is just as important
as physical preparation. Walking through and standing in our starting
gates is a daily routine as well.
Below is the
list of this year’s two year old home-breds in our training
program with their conformation photos and a detailed pedigree.
If you have any questions about our horses, please e-mail
us with your questions or telephone number and I will answer
them as soon as possible; or, call Eddie Martin at 1-800-684-9260.
